I think they do have a right but I feel it is too easy for people to say that are not then they have a right to that and its not something they want. They should have the choice to the right I feel is better. At a point I think we have to see what we see as a basic need and a right is not always the same to people. There are many people in the world leaving with less than we do yet we see it as a right for them to have it even if they are happy with the way they are right now. I think in the case of the Yasuni National Park we have to be careful with the people that this is affecting and we are trying to help. What we think is right for them is not what they want and that is giving them a bad view of us and the way view the world.

Blog soc 370 #11 11-25-13 Wanting to help...
I was
really interested this week on the different way people view things.
I mean even though day to day events people hold different views
about the most common and at times simple idea that one might hold. I
was really interested by this and the video we watched in class. So
it is really cool how a lot of different political and economical
things play into each other. I really makes me wonder about all the
things I have done and though I was doing one thing when it was
really going towards a goal I did not even know about or maybe did not
even want to help. It upsets me that a lot of the programs or
organizations that I like could also be doing the same thing. I guess
I feel like a little kid when they find out something they thought
was fake. It just kinda hurts your view of things for a bit until you
find out how to act and fix what you did not like about it. So I used
the image of a ink blot to get the idea across that we all see things
differently but then after we but them tougher we start to see a
larger image take shape that we might of not had any idea was
forming. I think of me I see it that if race has some how taken off
the world and we never had the idea of it that it would then fix a
lot of the problems we see today. I mean race is a word and idea that
was made by people so people should be able to get ride of it right.

Sum blog #9 soc 370 I'm not a kid anymore
I think at some point in life we have
all said that to someone that is trying to dull down something so
that they think we would understand them. We all like to think that
we are bright and we know a lot about the world and how things work.
But what if I told you day in and day out things are played down so
that the general public can understand it. Take a look at how
computers keep track of the websites that you go to so that you have
less work to do next time you plan to go to that website. It has come more and more to peoples notice that more and more people want things right now. They are not willing to wait and see if they really needed or do the work to get it. They just plan want it because it is there. I sued the image of Ender's game for the fact the story line reminded me of the theory. "Ender's Game(1985) is a military science fiction novel by American author Orson Scott Card. Set in Earth's future, the novel presents an imperiled mankind after two conflicts with the "Bugguers", an insecticide alien species In preparation for an anticipated third invasion, children, including the novel's protagonist, Ender Wiggin, are trained at a very young age through increasingly difficult games including some in zero gravity, where Ender's statistical genius is revealed."(Wikipedia). I though Ender's game fit really will for the fact that the theory in the book is that kids play use new games that there minds process things faster and as such they can learn more faster. They also have less of a emotional attachment to things from the interpersonal connections for technology.
I do not think technology is all bad or good. I think it depends on who is using it and how it is being used. I do wish that more people would use it for good and I know it looks that way. We don't see the bad for the fact that it is hidden from us. That all the things we do is keeped on record and for what reason I have to ask. I wish I could know what it was for so that it did not seem so bad. Maybe I am a bit to positive and think that things are more good than bad. I though Ender's game was also a good thing for this its a mix of good and bad and it all depends on how you take the story. If you have not read the book I highly recommend it.

For me I like to say that it is not right to just go after people just so that you can feel that you want to teach them something. I feel that everyone does wrong even if they believe it to be right. For me I find it best to be explained by the fallowing quotes.
“Red like blood
White like bone
Red like solitude
White like silence
Red like the beastly instinct
White like a god's heart
Red like thawing hatred
White like a frozen, pained cry
Red like the night's hungry shadows
Like a sigh piercing the moon
it shines white and shatters red”
it shines white and shatters red”

erases the footprints on thin ice
do not fear deception for the world lies atop deception"

Soc 370 #7 sam old same old = too much pressure 10-28-2013
| Classroom at Carthage College |
So we all can be asked to imagine a classroom and even though we all view different things they would still be really similar. Is sitting in the same style of room that looks so much like every other room a bad thing? If the class room was more informal and express full would we do better in class and in the workforce I went to Carthage college for a year and one thing I really miss a lot is the class rooms. There where the typical class rooms but also glass window rooms. When the college would give campus tours they would tell us at he glass rooms to make faces and be distracting. The students in that room where learning a important lesson to be focused I also find it really interesting we all learn the same things basic of things. Written, history, math, science and so forth. I feel that that is a good thing for all students to learn basics that make them connected in their ideas and what they understand. It also puts a bit more pressure on me as a student to learn other things other people and students might not know to get ahead. So just for fun a few things I have learned that make me stand out. I have learned how to crack cried card codes. Before you jump to ideas it's not to brake into accounts or anything like that. What it really is a mathematical formula to use to see if a card is fake or real. The history behind it is interesting as well. I have also learned that the body can be drained of all blood in 8.6 seconds giving the right vacuuming system. I have learned how to socialize animals that have been abused and neglected. So after learning all odd facts and skill that interest me and I feel set me apart from other that already know all I know. Is it a good think I feel like all students feel like this that all other students in there know the same stuff and then feel the need to make themselves have sow thing to catch people's attention? So even though I think globalization is good could it be pushing students to have more pressure to make themselves stand out.

Soc 370 #6 Why does it cost that much? 10-21-2013
So in class this week we have been talking about the economy and a capitalist sytel society. So I thought of this as a example for when one group pushes another group to be like them thinking it will make them better when in fact it has a mixed of good and bad. The video I picked show the cost of groceries in a store in Nunavut Canada. To me this video at first is funny to think that something like ice cream would cost $13.69 so to only see the cost here about $5.00 for it. It is really odd to think that it would ever cost that much. That got me thinking then as to why it would cost that much. This is what I came up with. A national world wide crises could make this up in price if the commodity is not being made anymore or the products used to make it are no longer available. It would also go up in cost the harder it was to store and transport.
That is where the high cost comes from. Nunavut is the farthest-north part of Canada. It is cold and remote. Most families make do with what they can hunt. But this is not getting them by as well with now living in towns with stories and new commodities. They are protesting to the government to help with the problem. To think I am one college student eating and complaining about the cost that I spend on food just for myself when "Meanwhile, a family of four on social assistance in Nunavut would get about $275 to $325 a week for food."(http://worldtruth.tv/nunavut-canada-insane-food-prices/). It really makes me wonder if capitalism and the economy is really the best thing for us to use. It makes me want to change the system to fix and work better for everyone but I do not know how to do that.
